Position: Senior Field Technician

Job Summary

MINDS Inc is expanding to serve the US Midwest / Great Lakes region and we are currently seeking an accomplished field technician. The person shall work independently and have the ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner. As the front line to our customer base, the individual shall be professional and customer oriented.


Overall responsibility

  • Install, commission and support control systems and data acquisition systems on asphalt plants and heavy construction machinery. Also responsible for installation and support of wireless tracking systems applied to the road construction sector.

Key areas of responsibility

  • Assess customer installations and site survey
  • Consult and explain options to customer
  • Supervise local electrician on customer site
  • Commission and calibrate control system / data acquisition system
  • Train customer staff, plant and machine operators
  • Maintain documentation and provide remote and local support
  • Maintain base office and equipment
  • Update manuals and documentation
  • Proficient with industry related software

  • Account Managers
  • Operations Director
  • Software programmers
  • Customer's equipment manager / project manager
  • Plant and machine operators
  • Electricians

Conditions of employment

  • Unlimited duration
  • Midwest based
  • Frequent traveling in a 6 hour drive radius
  • Some travel to Canada
  • Competitive compensation package according to experience, skills

Qualifications

  • 5 years or more experience in process automation installation and commissioning
  • Strong sense of customer service
  • Good organizational skills and capacity to manage projects in sometimes challenging deadlines
  • Ability to work alone
  • Ability to work intellectually and physically on an industrial site
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds
  • Good driving record and good references
  • Fluent in English
