Tracking the Haul of Construction Material with RFID Technology.
The PaveTag RFID application tracks trucks from hot mix plants to pavers
using inexpensive RFID tags. The system automatically collects ticket
data, computes transportation and waiting times and ensures total
traceability on loads delivered to the job.
Trucks are detected at every stage of the transport process. At the plant yard
entrance the RFID reader detects the truck entering and exiting the plant. At the scale, our PrintUp™ ticket data capture device
reads the truck load tickets when they are printed and transmits
that data to eRoutes™. When the truck leaves the plant we detect
it using the RFID reader.
Pavers are equipped with onboard
electronics including an RFID reader which detects when a truck arrives
and is also capable of detecting which one is dumping. The truck
arrival time and location are sent through cellular networks to
eRoutes™ servers.
PaveTag RFID uses "ILR" (Intelligent Long Range) active tags. This technology
features a field loop marker providing two
detection ranges: a long range of about 300 feet (100 meters)
and a short range of about 10 feet (3 meters). With this
technology waiting trucks are detected around
the paver while the truck being serviced is
singled out. MINDS Inc and RFID leader IDENTEC SOLUTIONS www.identecsolutions.com have established a partnership to bring this technology to the operations of the constuction industry.
Detailed timing analysis, in the form of a table, provides time of arrival at the plant, time of loading, time of departure from the plant, arrival time at the job, time of unload into paver, time of departure from the paver, time of departure from the job and round trip time back to the plant. The distance covered by the paver with a truck and the position of the paver when the truck unloads can also be provided.
A Geographic Information System is part of PaveTag and gives detailed information regarding the location of every truck-load on the road. Through the PaveTag portal, graphical information about the paver and trucks is shown and provides data related to the load such as Truck ID, material, weight, dump time, etc. When combined with AcquiEx and AcquiLab the system provides total traceability from production to job site.

Tracking the Haul of Construction Material with GPS and Wifi Technology.
The PaveTag GPS application tracks the location of trucks
using competitively priced GPS and WiFi enabled tags developed by MINDS. By using Wifi as the means of sending data back to the eRoutes
system there is no additional data fees. PaveTag Access Points can be placed at the Plant and Paver to transfer position data from the tag back to eRoutes.
At the plant the PaveTag Access Point detects the truck entering the plant yard and begins to send the data to eRoutes. At the scale, our PrintUp™ ticket data capture device
reads the truck load tickets when they are printed and transmits
that data to eRoutes™.
Pavers can be equipped with PaveTag to transfer data as the truck arrives at the Paver. The Paver onboard electronics include WiFi, GPS and Cellular capabilities and will transmit the tag data back to eRoutes over a the cellular network. As well, the truck arrival time and paver location are sent through cellular networks to eRoutes™ servers.
A Geographic Information System is part of PaveTag GPS and gives detailed information regarding the path taken for every truck-load on the road. Through the PaveTag portal, graphical information about the paver and trucks is shown and provides data related to the load such as Truck ID, material, weight, dump time, etc. When combined with AcquiEx and AcquiLab the system provides total traceability from production to job site.

Tracking the cycle times of material with RFID Technology.
Where traditional satellite based technologies don't perform, RFID enabled
vehicle tracking of truck movement is a solution to accurately track cycle times
and monitor productivity. As a robust, industrial solution, QuarryTag is designed
to operate in harsh conditions and with the added benefit of no costly data airtime costs.
